Juliet Victor Wines: Defining a
New Luxury Expression of Tokaj
Project Included: Design Strategy, Packaging Design, Portfolio Strategy, Art Direction, Illustration Design
The Brief
Juliet Victor Wines approached us to create the identity and packaging for a new sparkling wine originating from Hungary’s historic Tokaj region. The ambition was to launch a premium product capable of introducing a new category within luxury sparkling wine while elevating perceptions of contemporary Hungarian craftsmanship on an international stage.
The Challenge
The sparkling wine category is dominated by deeply established visual codes from Champagne and other European heritage regions. For a new entrant from Hungary, the challenge was to create immediate credibility while avoiding imitation. The brand needed to feel timeless, premium and internationally relevant, while still rooted in the geography and character of Tokaj itself. The product also represented a relatively unexplored space within luxury sparkling wine, requiring the identity to help define the category rather than simply participate within it.
The Solution
We created a refined luxury identity system centred around restraint, materiality and symbolism. The Juliet Victor monogram and black and gold palette established a contemporary premium positioning, while tactile finishes and minimal detailing reinforced a sense of rarity and sophistication.
The wider visual world was inspired by Tokaj’s volcanic terrain and mineral rich soil, using dramatic textures and rock formations to create a distinctive expression of modern Hungarian luxury.
